Can apple ID's be hacked I panic sometimes.

Hi I wonder to myself sometimes can apple

ID's be hacked from other people. So say

For instance could someone hack my apple

Account. Or is the security hot with apple..?

No, Apple's servers have never been hacked, but if you don't have a strong password someone can run a program that will try all password combinations on your account until it finds yours.


Probably 99%+ of all breakins to accounts are either the owner voluntarily granting access to the account (by responding to a "phishing" email or logging in to a spoofed web site) or a hacker breaking your passcode because it isn't strong enough.

The usual password rules apply:


Shouldn't be a word in any dictionary

Even if you substitute numbers for letters

Shouldn't be anyone's name (like not your children/siblings/parents)

At least 8 characters long; 10 is better 14 or more is best

Mix of letters, numbers, punctuation and both UPPER and lower case letters

Don't write it down

Should be different from passwords you use for other sites (then again, you should not use the same password for different sites anyway)


Changing it frequently is NOT important if it is a good password to start with.
