I'm having trouble moving my complete itunes library from old MacBook to new MacBook, help please!!!

Can anyone please help me?

I'm trying to move my itunes library from old MacBook (late 2008) to newer MacBook & am encountering problems. No firewire input on new MB, that was my first idea, the Migration Assistant keeps crashing, taking too long, & apparently sharing doesn't import all settings!

I do have an iPod classic if this helps!
