Aperture busy for 3 days trying to import over 1000 images

I am trying to import over 1000 images, and Aperture is showing busy with the colorful dial since 3 days ago.

How can I check the import log to ensure it is busy working and not stuck?

Aperture 3, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
