Safari is also slow after installing OSX version 10.8.2. Here is the info you requested in activity monitor and console:
The top of the activity monitor is the Safari Web Content at 4.2% constantly fluculating. It will change to kernel task and mds. The % User 4.76, %1.25 System, %94.50 Idle numbers but they keep changing.
Page outs 0 bytes, swaps used 0 bytes.

Writes out/sec: 0 (but also changed to 7 and back to 0)
