If I buy a movie on iTunes and burn it to a DVD can I get to to play in a DVD/Blu-ray player? I haven't had much luck trying to do so.
No you cannot.
You can only make a backup dvd of your movies, fo use in itunes on yur computer. You cannot burn a video product to dvd to watch on a dvd player, just as you cannot copy a dvd that you purchase.
