iPhone 5: How to recover deleted photos?

Hello,

I recently got an iPhone 5 and been happily snapping away. However, the other day managed to delete a load of photos that didn't want to delete.

I'm travelling and don't have a computer or have made any backups, via iTunes and neither Photostream or anything like that.

I'd really like the photos back and wondering if there is a way of doing it? I'd put some in the app "Photo Vault" to try and keep some secure, but they're gone as well.

I've used SD card software to recover photos from SD cards before with some success, and was wondering if there's a similar thing for iPhone?

Thanks

iPhone 5, iOS 6.0.2

First, check if their physical footprint still exists. Go to Settings > General > Usage and check the amount of storage available, do you notice that there is a lot of used storage ? You can also check it through iTunes, which might show used memory labeled as Other.

I lost all my pictures and videos after jailbreaking my phone, yet iTunes showed that they are still taking physical memory (labeled as Other - iTunes did not recognise my pics or vids anymore). This means they cannot be viewed via Camera Roll but they are still stored in the phone.

To fix that, download iFunBox ( http://www.i-funbox.com ) and use it to locate and extract the images from the phone (no need for iTunes to access the phone). I managed to extract all my photos from the phone to an external USB, which accumulated to over 20GB of photos and videos.

Use this method and you should recover your photos and videos with no previous backup. If your phone shows that there is a lot of empty storage, then your photos might have actually been completely removed.

can you remember the folder location?

my "other" folder was 8+gb the other day. but i found the culprit and deleted the app folder. which reduced it back to 1.54gb. but today, its gone back up to 2.3g 😟

i need to find the location of the the "other" folder to recover a few pics and to empty it.

I Deleted some photos and then auto synced so I thought I lost them all. Tried different software to extract...no luck. Today I was looking through my Facebook photos and if you have an account and are signed in on your phone it automatically syncs your pics. They aren't shared unless you mark them for it. om your home page select the more option (has 3 bars under it) then you can see your photos, shared albums, and synced photos. Just click the pic, click the 3 dots on bottom left side, select save pic and it will be in your camera roll!!!

If you are talking about photos that were taken with the iPhone, then you might be able to restore some of them from a previous backup. If there aren't any in any previous backups, then I'm afraid you are out of luck.

If these were photos that were synced to your iPhone, they should still be on your computer.

When you want to recover iPhone photos, you are not allowed to connect your iPhone to computer directly, because iTunes will save the recent data automatically. First of all, you should check whether you have the backup files
iTunes> preferences> devices
All your backup files are listed.
Then click iTunes>preferences> devices "prevent iPhone from syncing automatically." select OK and close the window after checking" don't sync"
Now you can connect iPhone to PC and recover deleted photos from iPhone. What you should notice is that is based on you have the backup files.
If you are not lucky to erase all pics....Sorry to tell you that you cannot get them back unless you don't mind some third party tools.
