Start up time for Macbook Pro

Hi,

Is 13" macbook pro start up time duration for 27 sec is normal? I found that this start up is slow and the service center did helped me to reformat once. Unfortunately the duration of this start up time remain unchanged. Please advise.

27 seconds for a hard drive (not an SSD) is normal.

If your system is starting fro a Cold Boot, Complete Power Off, to the screen where you type in your password then IMHO that is VERY FAST. Normally with the stock 5400RPM spinning HDD Apple installs is around 40-45 seconds.

With a 7300RPM drive that can be somewheres around 30+/- seconds and with SSD in the area of 16-20 seconds.

Some report Cold Boot times from a SSD of around 10 seconds but that IMHO is impossible. I have timed the startup chime from the press of the power button at 2.5-3 seconds leaving only 7+/- seconds for the Complete OS to load and the logon screen to be displayed.

So if you are using the Stock drive, 5400 RPM model, your times are GREAT.
