I am unable to make the purchase of an audiobook play. It appears as downloaded but won't respond when I try to pay it. What can I do?
Where did you download the Audiobook from?
I purchased it from iTunes onto my iPad.
It appeared to download correctly, just won't play.
does it play on your computer?
If not you cannot redownload audiobooks from the itunes store. So report it as a corrupted file to itunes store support
Yes - it does play on the computer. So I shall have to report it then as a corrupted file. Will I be able to have it to play on the iPad? Will they allow me to re- download?

If it is on your computer I would unsync it from your iPad and then reselect it an synch again to the iPad. See if it works.
Unfortunately they do not currently allow for the redownload of audiobooks. But if the Audiobook plays on your computer it is not corrupted. So lets see if we can get that version on the ipad.
