My iPod touch isn't playing music through the built in speaker

My 5th Gen iPod touch isnt playing music through the built in speaker, however, my ringtone works when I try and play that. When I do try and play a song, it says its playing already but I cannot hear anything. If I plug in my headphones then I can hear the sound, and when I unplug them the song doesnt pause like it normally does, it carries on like say they were still plugged in.

What should I do to fix this? I've already tried to reset it and that hasnt worked:(

help?x

Try:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: How to back up

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
