I have an iPad 2 and is it worth upgrading from iOS 5.1 to 6.0 And should I wait for further stable updates? As I have there are app compatibility and security issues on ios 6.

I've had no issues with iOS 6 on my iPad 2. It works fine. no compatibility issues, no Wifi issues or anything. As for waiting, there's no guarantee the next iOS update will be applicable to the iPad 2. Just like iOS 6 could not be applied to the iPad 1.

I would like to add one more question phil, since I would like to update to my iPad to iOS 6 and this is the first time I'm updating the device which is safer 1. Directly downloading the software to iPad or
2. By updating my iPad on pc via iTunes.
Both are as secure as each other , to be honest I prefare over the air
Most users haven't had problems with iOS 6, however, some have. I'm still using iOS 5.1.1 on my iPad 2. There is a beta version iOS 6.1 being tested. Don't know when it will be released. When it is released, I'll update.

They are both about the same if you backup to iCloud or itunes.
Directly on the iPad is a little more convenient.
Whichever you choose, make sure you backup somewhere. Either on itunes or iCloud if you have it set up.

I have the ipad 2 aswell and IOS6 is much better, smoother and has good new features. trust me lol its stable enough you dont have to worry about that, it aint gonna make your ipad explode...
I just updated my iPad 2 to the latest iOS 6.0.1 and currently it's working quite fine and everything seems to be in order. Thanks again for all, on giving confidence on going for the update.
