IPOD WON´T WORK

WHILE TRAVELING, MY IPOD WAS IN A CARRY-ON BAG NEXT TO A VIDEO CAMERA THAT HAD A 4 HOUR BATTERY. COULD THAT HAVE AFFECTED MY IPOD? DEMAGNITIZED IT? HELP!

It would be of help if we knew what was wrong with your iPod.

Jeff,
I can´t get to the menu. (20 gig iPod with click wheel).
I get a folder? or briefcase? that says www.apple.com/support/ipod. I went to the site and was instructed to reset the iPod. I tried sevseral tiems. The apple symbol comes up, but that´s it. It worked fine 2 days ago.

Have you seen both of these?

iPod shows a folder icon with exclamation point after disconnecting.
iPod shows a folder icon with exclamation point when you turn it on.

No I haven´t. iPod turned off normally. I locked it. The next day, I put it in my travel bag. When I reached my destination, it didn´t work. To make matters worse, I´am not by my computer, so I can´t really do much. That´s why I was wondering if the camera battery, which was right next to the iPod, could have affected it.

I think it's unlikely that the camera battery has anything to do with this. Try the steps contained in those links.
