Cant find the SUMMARY TAB on my ITune
iPhone 4S, iOS 6.0.1

AND SO ON , NO summary or........... type device..........

Do you mean the device summary page?
your device will either be top tight by the itunes store button.
Click on the device name NOT the arrow which will eject it. There is the summary page
If you have the sidebar showing as per itunes 10 Ctrl S to show it. The your device will be there. Select it and the summary page is on the right.
Connect the device.
Click the button for it near the top right.
The main display should now switch to show the device, Summary should be the left most tab,
