Best OS for 2007 Macbook Pro?

What would the best performing OS be for a late 2007 Macbook Pro (17", 2.4ghz Core 2 Duo)? Would Mountain Lion run as well as Snow Leopard? Does it even make a difference in performance?

A Late 2007 MacBook Pro will run correctly with Mountain Lion, but I recommend you to install at least 4 GB of RAM if you want to use Mountain Lion. You can buy the RAM in OWC or Crucial > http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/MacBook/Pro/Core2/

If Snow Leopard works correctly on your computer, there's no reason to upgrade because some Snow Leopard applications aren't compatible with OS X Mountain Lion, so you will have to update them to a newer version. If you want to upgrade OS X, see if your programmes are compatible > http://www.roaringapps.com
