Migration from Windows Vista to MacAir taking too long

Migrating from Windows Vista to MacBook Air

Prefer to use migration assistant as opposed to external drives.

My transfer just for music has been running overnight and is still estimated at another 34 hours. Could it have anything to do with the ethernet cable? I think I'm using CAT5e, and I recall reading somewhere that it should be a CAT6 cable.

Any other thoughts or suggestions?

It was CAT6 cable in case anyone makes the same mistake. Now the music transfer is trucking along and should be done in 2 hours. Good luck out there
