Apple store gift card

Hello -

I'm trying to find the right customer service department to help with a gift card issue. I wasted two weeks with someone from the iTunes store and am super frustrated with Apple right now.

Here's what happened:

  • I received an Apple Store gift card
  • I went to purchase Aperture online
  • I entered all of my gift card information and then proceeded to shop
  • When I purchased Aperture it automatically charged my account on file and never gave me the chance to use the card

Any information about who to contact for a refund would be appreciated. It keeps routing me to iTunes support and as mentioned above, that was a wasted effort. To make this situation even better Aperture and iPhoto aren't working at all for me so this is just a crazy situation all around.

Thanks ahead of time!

Hi HACKINTOSH -

Believe it or not I'm not confused! I can see why this would seem like a really dumb issue (and maybe it will turn out to be user error in the end). I somehow ended up on iTunes when I was trying to figure out how to enter the gift card to make the purchase and clicked help. From there I became engaged with a customer support person. I very specifically stated that the issue came up when I was trying to purchase Aperture but she continued the dialog for a couple of weeks.

The gift card states I can use it to make purchases online or in the store so I'm still confused about why I was never given the option to use my gift card (which was sent to my apple account) before my credit card was charged.

Thanks
