Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.

Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).

Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

You can't be serious. Really you expect people to buy a camera connection kit only to transfer pictures from their apple macintosh to their apple iPad? And all this additional hassle creating DCIM folder, I mean are you seriously doing this yourself? Just think about this for a minute...

How about transferring pics to your iphone? obviously the camera connection kit doesnt work on the iphone...

Its really amazing how apple products are supposed to make your life easier. The simplest things just are a pain in the ***

For an hour I have been trying to transfer pics from my imac to my iphone connected vie USB (thats the way I would expect it to work). There is no tab "photos" in my itunes. And iphoto only accepts import of photos from iphone, but no "export to iphone".

Comon seriously... have you got a solution that works without all this additional workaround such as airdrop the photos? just simple USB transfer?? anyone ??!

Seriously, did you read the thread? TMM gave "another way" to move pics. Note the words "other way". Using iTunes sync is the preferred method and is very easy. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236
