After my Ipod is turned off then back on using the "recovery mode" method, my Ipod just stays on the "Connect to Itunes" screen. When I open up Itunes manually (note my ipod was plugged in after i turned on my ipod) there is no pop up asking for my ipod to be restored. Please help.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

My Ipod touch still will not connect to itunes or enter DFU mode. When i hold on to the power button the screen just goes black, and when it gets plugged in it goes directly back to the " Connent to itunes" screen and itunes wont read my ipod...
Try on another computer.
