"Forbidden 403" error not fixed

I am having this exact problem in 10.6.8, and following these instructions exactly (and repeatedly) doesn't fix the problem.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

I...er...I wondered where in the world "It works!" was coming from, so I did a Spotlight search...and it was

/Library/WebServer/Documents/index.html.en. In other words, right what it was supposed to be. For some reason that baffles me, the standard Apache welcome page had been renamed and that had been put in its place. Weird.


Well, I have the most important thing, a way to host webpages from my Mac; it's not actually required that the /~ pages work. Maybe someday when I have time to dive into Apache I'll figure out what's going on...
