My iPad is acting up, it appears like someone else is controlling it, it opens programs randomly, goes to iTunes and plays the same song, goes to settings and clicks on iMessage, zooms in and out of pictures and opens safari, even in airplane mode, help?

this reset did not resolve, however I followed another suggestion and made it into settings/general/zoom, my zoom was "off" turned it "on" then turn it "off", the ipad was stable for about 5 mins, then it started to randomly open safari (through email links),

This is crazy, I was so used to using my ipad each day, reading on line, on the go, I can't afford another one, there has to be an explaination?? Apple??

is it possible that it is hacked by a robot computer or server somewhere?

Aside from no reports of such things happening to anyone (at least not anyone non-jailbroken), one thing that throws that out is you said it happens in airplane mode too.

why do you feel it's the screen?

The screen is the input device. If it was registering phantom finger presses, it might do all the things you described.

If it is backed up and you can control it long enough to go to Settings/General/Reset/Reset all Content and Settings , this will wipe it and you can try setting it up from your latest backup or maybe an older backup. I'm not saying this will be the solution but it is worth trying unless you have data/photos you'll lose by doing so.

steve did you manage to solve your problem and if you did can you please tell me how you did it. My ipad is acting up in the exact same same manner you described yours above.

As noted above, if you've reset the ipad, restored it if that didn't work, most likely, you have a hardware problem and should take the iPad in for servicing.

Best of luck.
