is there any way to get a refund on an in-app purchase?

I recently downloaded the app TextPlus. I removed the ads in it, costing 2.99. I dont use the app anymore and I would like to know if theres a possible way to geta refund on it?

Apple states all sales are final. If you decided not to use your iPad anymore do you think Apple would refund your money?
