You can't connect your computer to a TV with a Thunderbolt port because there aren't any TVs with this port. Instead, depending of the ports that your TV has and the Mac you have, you have to use a HDMI cable with an adapter (or without, if you have a MacBook Pro with Retina display) or any adapter. Just look at your TV for ports and tell us what ports it has got, so we can know what cable you must use to connect your computer to that TV

You can use a MiniDisplay Port to HDMI adapter, and a HDMI cable to connect to the TV. Although your Mac has got a Thunderbolt port instead of MiniDisplay Port, you can use MiniDisplay Port without any problem on your computer

An A1260 MBP will have to use the DVI port to connect to video. To get audio, you will have to tap the Audio Output Port.

You will have to look at the connections on your TV. For video there will probably be VGA or HDMI inputs. For audio, there will probably be RCA inputs. Select cables and adapters that accommodate the respective types.

An A1260 MBP (15" early 2008, Model identifier 4.1) does not have a minidisplay port. Until I can get definitive information as to what MBP you have I cannot help you. Post the equivalent display from your MBP:
