Why does my MBP idle at 175 degrees Fahrenheit?

I have a 15" MacBook Pro Retina that I've had for a few months now. I've installed Windows 7 using bootcamp. Everything seemed to be working correctly, trackpad, keyboard, bluetooth, wifi, speakers etc. Now I just installed Google Chrome and while it was installing the fans kicked in then just went full turbo. My computer became very hot; unconfortable to touch. I installed a tempature monitor and it appears my computer idles at around 175 on Windows 7 and will reach 185 when just browing the web. Any idea what is going on? I haven't installed anything else besides Google Chrome and RealTemp.

MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Google Chrome can be rather GPU & CPU intensive - you should expect some higher temps when you run it. But your temps seem a bit too high - and your fans are kicking in to compensate for those high temps. 185ºF does seem about 20-30º too high, though. I would install the 14-day trial version of iStat Menus 4 and keep an eye on those temps and fan speeds. If 185º seems to be the 'norm' you may want to consider taking in your machine for diagnostics.

Good luck,

Clinton
