reset permission push notifications

On my iphone I installed Clash of Clans. On its first launch I got the push notifications popup:

"Clash of Clans"Would Like to Send You Push Notifications

Notifications may include alerts, sounds and icon badges. These can be configured in Settings

Don't Allow / OK

At first I didn't want them so I chose Don't Allow. Later I wanted them back anyway so I went to Settings > Notifications to turn the notification center settings back on, but they already were. I didn't get any push notifications though while the game was playing/running. Could that have anything to do that I denied them on the app's first launch? If so, how do I reset that? I tried using 'clear all settings' in the iphone settings, but that didn't help. Also tried deleting the app and reinstalling it, but that didn't work either. Instead of starting over, the game continued from the last settings. Including levels, game setup, buildings, etc.

When you accidentaly choose Don't Allow on such first push notification popups, how can you reset that. Or change it back to allow push notification permissions should you change your mind afterwards?

The first time you install a push-enabled app, iOS asks if wish to receive notifications for that app. AFAIK, once you respond to this alert it is not presented again unless the device is restored or the app has been uninstalled for at least a day. So, delete the app, if prompted to keep the app data, decline. Then sync your phone...insure the app is also deleted from your iTunes library first. Now, you can either wait a day or so before reinstalling, or set the time/date on your phone a couple of days ahead & then reinstall the app. I have not tried setting the date/time ahead, myself.

Did that but didn't help. I deleted Clash of Clans from my iphone. Then synched with iTunes. I downloaded the app using the iphone's appstore so it wasn't in itunes yet. I then set the date 2 months in advance. Downloaded Clash of Clans. It stated it was a new app with the 'new' banner over the icon. Started it but it continued where I was when I last played it. With all the buildings, levels etc. intact. And I didn't get a 'app wants to send you push notifications' popup. Then set the date back again. Checked Notification Center but for Clash of Clans all settings where turned on. Nevertheless, so far not a single push notification from the game.

How does it exacly work when you choose 'Don't Allow' on such a popup? Will it show the notification settings for that app all to 'off'? Or can I select 'Don't Allow' and the iphone will still show the notification settings for that app as 'on' but it will nevertheless never send push notifications?
