How can I update applications that came with my MacBook Pro? The applications are iMovie and iPhoto.

I can't update iMovie and iPhoto on my MacBook Pro with Retina display because the App Store keeps on telling me to log into the account I used to buy it, but I received these two applications with the purchase of my Mac last year. What should I do so I can update these applications?

MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities

First, see > http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4236

If it doesn't work, open App Store > Featured > Show hidden purchases, and show iPhoto and iMovie. This error usually happens because applications are hidden, so this should solve the problem. If it doesn't work, contact with App Store support > http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/contact
