MagSafe charger sparked and now Macbook is having problems.
My MagSafe charger was plugged into my Macbook today when it sparked a couple of times. My cord started to rip one day, and now the wires are open to view. I have tape on it, thinking it would help and it did. Suddenly today it sparked and my Macbook shut down immediately. I quickly unplugged the cord form both the laptop and the wall outlet. A while later I tried plugging it back in and it would work, untill my idiot boyfriend would bump into me causing the cord to jiggle and inevitably spark again (causing the macbook to shutdown once again). Hours later I tried turning on my macbook again without it plugged in and everything loaded up fine, except certain things were a bit off. I noticed that my macbook would reset the time and date all the way to 12:00 January 1st 2008... meanwhile it was 2 am January 19th, 2013.. I got my Macbook in 2010. It dumped all of my saved passwords and "remembered wifi networks". I also loaded a game I play often and it's like all of my saves and the settings for the game are messed up. Also it says it has 2 GB of memory. Is this normal? I'm really worried about what the future for my Macbook will look like. Does anybody have any advice, or experience with this?
I don't know if any of this is important but....
