Google maps for Malta

Unfortunately still unable to set google maps on iphone 5 for Malta -europe although i accessed google maps via safari browser and put a link on home screen. I keep getting a reply " your request could not be completed the item you requested is not currently available in the Maltese store. I really find this not fair as i bought an Original iphone expecting to get a service in Malta too after paying 680euros! So dissappointed. Any help pls or suggestions? Thank you.
