i want to fax from my mac and do not know how to do. Who can help?

There is no longer a fax modem built in, so you would either need an external fax modem or have an all-in-pne printer which has fax capabilities.

If you use just one service for both sending and receiving, you will have to pay for that service. There are many services that offer FAX.
Use eFax to receive free faxes- make sure you sign up for the free account and make sure you tell them your preference is to receive a fax are in TIFF format not in their proprietary fax program.

You need to get signed with a Fax Company, for example I use Online Fax by Popfax (http://www.popfax.com), you do not need any fax machines or a telephone line, they will give you a phone number for free. Hope it helped.
I've been using this USRobotics modem that I purchased through Amazon for almost 6 months now - sends and receives faxes with no problems at all.
Same one that Linc recommended.
