I'm giving my old 3gs to my child for use as a music player, camera, etc. I'd like to give her access to YouTube, but the app was removed. Can't seem to download it from App store using the phone. Suggestions please?

I can see the app in the app store, but the "free" box that you need to tap to download it looks grayed out. I see from other forums (fora? Whatever) that 3gs and ios6.0.1 may no longer support youtube. Can that be right?

I looked in itunes at the requirements: "Compatible with iphone 3gs"
Do you have app store purchases turned off in restrictions? Sounds like it. It should work on that phone just fine.
Under heading "Allow" I have toggled to "on" the options for iTunes and Installing Apps. That means it's allowed, not restricted, right?

I set up some parental controls...I wonder if the fact that I have restrictions on what I intend to let her watch means that the app store won't let me download an app that doesn't support such controls?
