The SMART Status on my hard drive is gone

I installed a new Western Digital hard drive recently. I do remember the SMART status being present when looking at Disk Utility.

Unrelated to this new hard drive, I have an external hard drive that my machine wouldn't recognize. I called Apple Support, and they told me to do the key combination shift + control + option and hold down power button for 10 sec - in hopes of resetting connections to components I believe which may allow the external HD to be recognized. I did that, then turned on the machine, and opened disk utility, at which point the SMART status on my internal HD was gone.

So looking at disk utility, the name of the 1 partition is the same name as the top level for the internal HD, which is not a good sign I am guessing. Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks for any help, Scott Chamberlain
