Apple technical support *****. Can't even tell me how to hard reset my iPhone. I have to pay $300 to get an answer.

Apple Technical Support does not **** if you are within warranty or paid for AppleCare. Otherwise, you are expecting something for free when everyone else was required to pay. In my opinion, that would ****.

Apple's website has plenty of knowledgebase articles that you can access for free. You can try it too. I searched the Internet for iphone reset and here is one of the top hits:

There are also the forums (i.e., here) where other users are more than willing to volunteer their time to help you solve issues.

I just purchased my iPhone and I don't think I should pay. I just had a simple question of why my phone could not send text messages and the guy told me that I have corrupted files (it happened probably when I synced my phone to my computer. So I asked how do I reset and his response was you have to pay 3 easy payments of $99. What!!!???

I'm technically chAllenge. I guess Apple is just trying to make money from people like me who doesn't have a clue on how to reset or sync a phone.

I'm trying to reset my phone is what I'm trying to accomplish and see if this would solve my issue of not being able to send text messages. Mind you it's a brand new iPhone 5.

Well, the reset is easily accomplished.

Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/On/Off buttons at the same time, until the silver Apple logo reappears. Release both buttons and await restart. No content is affected by this procedure.

But again I say, I have never, ever heard of Apple requesting $300, especially with 3 easy payments of $99 to solve a problem, even if the product is out of warranty it would not cost that much for a call.

As another poster noted, there is a lot of online documentation that both familiarizes you with, and instructs you how to troubleshoot your iPhone. You've posted nonsense that Apple is charging you for that advice, and it's obvious that it's not true. Not only are you "technically chAllenged", you don't have the inititative to use the resources at your disposal.
