I have configured server over a .private address. I don't need messages over the Internet, just the intranet. I add the OS X Server username and password into the accounts preference pane but when I open messages it prompts me to type my password and doesn't accept it.
Any one ellse have this problem?
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
This has come up a couple of time, especially since 10.8.2 and Server 2.2 which seems stricter on the configuration. Have a look here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4596314.
