How can I tick the double-sided printing option?

My Canon PIXMA MG3100 printer definitely has the double-sided printing option as it worked easily with Windows. Selecting different options in the Duplex Printing and Margin option hasn't changed anything, it is still not possible to click the option.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

I don't know if using the CUPS interface would help at all?

So are you saying that you cannot select the Duplex Printing button, as highlighted in the image below.
