Can't view embedded YouTube videos with Safari
Has this issue been resolved? I've suddenly encountered this problem but nothing seems to fix it. Is it a Flash plug-in problem?
OSX10.6.8
Safari 5.1.7
Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

YouTube videos not playing?
One of the following steps should help.
1. Install Adobe Flash Player.
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Restart
2 .Are Plug-ins Enabled?
Enable Plug-ins
Safari > Preferences > Security
Web Content:
Click in the box for "Enable Plug-ins".
3. Check whether you are currently in YouTube HTML 5 trial.
At the bottom left of the page uncheck the box for
"You are currently in the HTML5 trial".
4. Reset Safari.
Click Safari in the menu bar.
From the drop down select "Reset Safari".
Uncheck the boxes next to all items.
Check the box next to "Remove all website data".
Click "Reset".
Best.
I tried all this and still no luck...frustrating!
Could it be an extension causing this problem?
Safari > Preferences > Extensions
Turn those off and try.
Best.
No extensions, it seems.
Do you have Click to Flash enabled?
What happens when you right click on the video?
I don't have Click to Flash installed. When I try to load a video, I get "An error occurred, please try again later".
When I right-click on a video image or thumb-image I get a list of 'opne', 'save' and 'download' options, etc.
Safari > Preferences > Privacy
Cookies and other website data:
Click the "Details" button.
Remove all Google related cookies.
It will take a while.
Relaunch Safari.
Safari > Preferences > Privacy
Block cookies:
Set it to "Never" and try.
Block Cookies was set to 'Never' beforehand....removed Google's related cookies and still get the error.
I got it working. I was having trouble viewing PDFs in Safari and was advised to delete PDF-related Internet plug-ins. I did that and also figured I'd try deleting Flash-related plugins at the same time. I then re-installed Flash and rebooted. Can view PDFs AND embedded YouTube videos now!
Your suggestion #2 solved my problem.
Thank's dominic23
