Why didn't I receive headphones with my iPad Mini?
Normally Apple have dressed to impress, but today when I opened my iPad Mini Box. I was shocked not to find any earphones within the box...

they don't come with it.
The iPad Mini does not come with headphones.
Seriously? Is Apple cheaping out? Do iPad mini people not have ears?
Did you not read the "what's included in this box" notice, at the Apple Store on the web? iPads generally don't come with earplugs.
No iPad has ever come with headphones.
If you can afford an iPad, you can afford headphones.
I just use the ones that came with my iPhone. Good enough for me and always have been.
... and I can't stand the Apple ear plugs. I always buy good ones elsewhere.
[subjective, I know]
And that's likely the reason that the iPad does not come with any at all. They figure with a device like this, people will either have some already or buy a pair.
My Nexus 7 didn't come with any either.
Come to think of it, I have not seen any major manufacturer offer headphones with their tablets.
Shocked to find out my iPhone earphones do NOT work with the mini iPad! Now I have to go back and purchase it.
It would have been nice if the staff could have informed me at the time of purchase! Leaving for a flight...it would have been nice to be able to use it to listen and watch. I was sold the wrong one to begin with...due to the sales person not listening to his associate when the sale was turned over to him, then tried to blame me for not telling him when I clearly heard my order. I believe it should always be asked and explained when buying an iPad, wifi or wifi and cellular. Friends I know purchased with out cellular and have huge regrets. At least I knew both were essential for my usage, now for the earphones
I have always loved all my apple products but lately the service has not been good.
If the iPhone ear buds are not damaged, they should work just fine with the iPad. It is a standard 3.5mm plug. Are you certain you have them pushed all the way in (seriously, the number cause of earphone malfunction on an iOS device); or that the volume was set?
Thanks James Ward4...it worked. Since it would not go in easily as my iphone i was afraid to force it! I had gone to the apple store and they told me it would fit ...just a bit harder even for them..but it works!
