is this a dead pixel?

I saw this white dot on a ask.fm page. I am not sure if it is a dead pixel because this pic is an screenshot and i dont think dead pixels show up on screen shots.

also the dead pixel dissapeared when i left the web page. I think it is just a bug of the webpage but i want to be sure. Remember that this pic is an screenshot.

"Nature abhors straight lines". So do random pixels deaths.

You can ask the Genius Bar to look at it, but it is a nicely established 6-sided box-ish shape. And it vanishes when you move to another page that has the same balck background.

weather.com has a small dead-like pixel in the middle of the "map" display ... and I mean "directly in the middle", indicating it is part of the screen refresh.

I don't think it is a dead pixel because I have read that dead pixels don't appear on screenshots only if you take a picture to the screen with a phone cam or a cam.

The pixel not only appears there, if I surf the website and I go down the white dot changes of position. This is a PNG so I just cut the part of the image where the white dot was.

Also if i look the icon of the image on my dock you can see the small dot in the icon if you look close... it looks like that white dot is just a bug of the page and when i took the screen shot using command + shift + 3 I took a picture of the website with the bug

what do you think?

Pixels are physical elements. Unless the display is *very* warped, dead pixels stay in one place.

A whte dot that appears in the same place on all pages, can be broken. But I suspect I have at least 1 pixel dead based on tiny phantoms I sometimes see and simple statistics (cannot get all of them perfect). Just that it is very few and have not increased. Apple I think has a policy of not replacing a display untl you have "enough" dead pixels. What "enough" actually equates to is Apple's call.
