Q: How do I recover hidden apps without "Hidden Purchases" tab appearing?

Some of my apps appear hidden on my iphone because I downloaded too many without arranging them in folders.  When I attempt to follow these instructions, I get stuck when it says "tap Hidden Purchases."  My phone does not have that tab at all.  How can I recover these hidden apps without that tab present?

iPhone 4S, iOS 6.0.1

That article applies to purchases hidden from your puchase history i.e. they will be hidden from the Purchased tabs in the iTunes, App Store and iBooks (ibookstore) aps for re-downloading. If they are already downloaded on your iPhone and you have the maximum 11 homescreens full, then you can only access the additional apps (those that would appear on the 12th, 13th etc homescreens) via the spotlight search screen on your phone - swipe your first homescreen to the right, type in the app's name, and tap on it in the results list in order to open it.

If you connect the phone to your computer and select it on the left-hand side bar of your computer's iTunes (if you are on iTunes 11 on your computer then you can eneble the sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC), then on the right-hand side on the Apps tab you can use the screen mock-ups to re-arrange your apps into folders so that they are all on the first 11 screens - you should also be able to locate a particular app on that tab by double-clicking on its name in the listbox of apps, which should then show its position on the screen mock-ups so that you can then move it.
