MacBook Pro randomly shuts off only when on battery

Hi all,

I have a MacBook Pro 2,2 15" 2.33ghz C2D. running lion 10.7.5

For the past few months I had a broken battery in it, it didn't work at all, I only had it there to fill up the whole. I finally got a new, working battery, installed it, and the computer will just shut off without warning at any given time, while on battery power. It doesn't happen if its plugged in. I can usually get about a half hour or an hour use, then it shuts off, I can turn it back on and the battery is still practically full. Any idea why it's doing this?

You need to run a system repoort so we can see the health of the battery. I know you just said it was replaced but we need to check.

From the Apple menu choose About This Mac...

Then click More Info...

Then click System Report...

and copy the Power Section and paste it here. It should look like:

Also, sometimes it will refuse to power on at all until I remove the battery, then put it back in. It has always done that. Anyways heres that:

If this is a battery from Apple then you should have them examine the MBP with the battery. This should probably require a replacement.

If this is a third party battery, you may have purchased a substandard one. Sadly this is often the case with 'bargain' batteries. Try and return it if you can.

How long have you had that battery in the laptop? I ask because it's charge cycle is at 3 and there's no way in heck that's right unless it's brand new or something.
