My question is the same as above, but I have a little more information. I have Ripped on of my DVDs, using handbrake and the Universal setting. This rips it with the H264 codec at level 3.0 and then has AC3 and AAC Audio. Quicktime tells me that I don't have the codec, but I am pretty sure that Quicktime supports the 3.0 H264 codec.

I also just barely reinstalled the OS trying to solve this, still no luck.

Any suggestions?

I guess I should have been more specific. I am not looking to work around the issue, I want to solve the issue. I know Quicktime supports H264. I can quickview the movies using the space bar, and watch them that way, but actually opening them in Quicktime throws the error. Is there a way to reinstall all quicktime codecs?
