My macbook pro wont switch back on

I have a MacBook Pro, Possibly around 3 or 4 years old running Lion i think, Yesterday i left it transfering something which as far as i can tell was successfull! I left the house with the transferr going, i came home to find the screen on the laptop blank which isnt unusual thought it was on screen saver!

When i went to click a button nothing happened and nothing has continued to happen, I am a little concerned about this,

Anyone any suggestions please? ;-)

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

Try a SMC reset for starters.

Thanks for the suggestion, can you think of anything else, ive followed what i think is the appropiate instructions for my macbook and that didnt work! ;-)

See http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1365 - if no help, you'll just have to take the machine to your local Apple Store or an AASP and have them diagnose the problem.
