Is there any way to get the apps Showtime Anytime or HBO Go running on my apple TV? I tried running the application on my iphone and mirroring it to apple TV but I recieve a message saying that feature is not available with Showtime Anytime or HBO Go on the iphone. Is the only other option mirroring it with an iPad?

There is one workaround, Airparrot allows you to mirror you Macbook screen which can be playing showtime anytime from their website. That is the only thing I found
Word is HBO Go may be popping up as an app on your ATV this year.

The HBO Go app is available on the Xbox and Roku so you would think someone would make this for apple tv. I was hoping to do airplay from my iphone since the Cinnemax and Shotime apps do not exist on any players at the moment. These providers are being over protective about their services.
HBO-Go is AirPlay-enabled as of the latest update, which came out a couple months back. You should be able to stream directly to your TV as you do with other videos.
Showtime Anytime is lagging a bit but I imagine the feature will be added soon.

Apple's Terms of Use don't seem to mention a ban on discussing hacks or other unsupported workarounds (so long as the workarounds are not prohibited by law). Am I missing something?

These apps block airplay due to licensing/DRM. You are attempting to workaround that. The moderator has already edited your post.

Play from iPad, turn on mirroring, stream to Apple TV. Not perfect, but better than nothing.
When I try to mirror it says "We're sorry but showtime anytime does not support video output from this device" 😟 (New iPad air) Only sound is playing thru Apple TV..
You are currently using basic airplay, not mirroring.
***UPDATE*** I have been trying to watch Showtime Anytime (SA) from my iPad or MacBook for a long time. The only way I've found I can watch on the ipad is through the app, not safari. In mirroring I get "not supported from this device" there is no option to airplay. Through Macbook it never worked through Apple TV.
On my MacBook Pro I can watch on Safari. In the top tray there is an airplay icon. Click it, click on your Apple Tv, and start playing your video. VOILA! It just started working! This is so awesome! I can't wait to start watching Homeland on the big screen.
