I am trying to save all of the information on my iphone before I update the ios. I have a pc desktop on which I have installed itunes. When I plug in my iphone to the desktop, itunes trys to syn it and does not offer me the option to back up my phone??

I am trying to save all of the information on my iphone before I update the ios. I have a pc desktop on which I have installed itunes. When I plug in my iphone to the desktop, itunes trys to syn it and does not offer me the option to back up my phone??

Need help to above problem. I can not afford to loose the current information on my phone so I need to figure out how to back it up before I update the ios.

it should automatically back it up, if you go into the summary section of your phone on itunes it should tell you when the last day and time it updated. what does it say? are you set up for icloud backup instead?
