My screen goes black

My screen will just go black. My 2nd monitor stays up and works fine. I hold down the power button around 10 seconds and then let it go and press it again for 2 or 3 seconds and it comes back up sometimes. The last time I tried to this, it just restarted probably because I held it down too long. It seems my screen might be crapping out. Any ideas?
