Number not showing up in imessages in "send & receive",Stuck on "waiting for activavtion". Plzz help

Hi Everyone,

I am using a 4S, my third iphone. I had to reset my phone settings from "Reset All Settings" because it was givng some problem. After the reset, the phone was wrking like brand new. I turned "ON" my imesseages (it switched to OFF as default after reset), clicked OK to the carrier charge popup but it didnt work.

My number is not showing up as an option to select in "Send & Receive", only my apple ID is.

I have tried a host of solutions & tricks i was able to find on the net, but sadly it only resulted in deduction of my Vodafone balance & nothing more.

My number is registered with my apple id and my caller ID is also set as my number i.e. +91 XX-XX-XXXXXX.

Please help Guys...
