iCloud addin disabled and will not enable in outlook after v2.1.1. update

After the last icloud update the refresh icloud button disapearded from my outlook and it will no longer sync my contacts and claender items.

I checked the manage addins in outlook 2007 and the icloud addin was unticked (unloaded). however when I tick the icloud add-in and close and then go back to the manage addins window the icloud add-in remains unticked.

This is also an issue for several other other add-ins.

I have tried running outlook as Administrator and in compatibility mode to no avail.

any suggestions would be welcome.

iPhone 4S, iOS 6.0.2, Running Outlook 2007 on Win7 PC

Further to the post above:

I uninstalled and reinstalled icloud my contacts and calendar updated as part of the installation procedure but the outlook icloud addin problem noted above still remains so it will not sync unless I do another uninstall and reinstall.

If uninstalled icloud control panel form my PC will the contacts and claendar sync when I connect my iphone?

I now have the same problem, i.e. the iCloud add in is disabled, and when I tick the box and go on, and look again, it's still disabled. How did you fix this?
