I have a laptop running xp and have backed up to outboard hd. I would like to get new mac laptop but was wondering if i can restore my backup to new mac?

Also, you can use the backup you created on an external disk, so you can connect it, open Finder, select the external disk on Finder sidebar and restore the data manually to your user folders
