I am connected to the same WiFi network at my house through my Apple TV as well as my iPhone 5 but I can not see the AirPlay icon on my iPhone ! Can anyone help to guide me to connect my iPhone to the Apple TV so i can stream media on to my TV?

Is AirPlay enabled on the Apple TV, where have you looked for the AirPlay icon.
Yes, under the Settings menu of my AppleTV, I have gone into AirPlay sub-menu and the AirPlay selection shows "ON", Onscreen Code is set to "OFF" and no Password is set up.
I also have a Tick against the AppleTV listed under Speakers.
Is there anything else I should do to enable AirPlay on the AppleTV or my iPhone?
Which phone do you have and what OS does it run.
iPhone 5, iOS 6.0.2
Have you tried restarting your iPad, Apple TV and router.

I just restarted my router and all of a suggen all my devices are connected through the AppleTV and the AirPlay icons are available on my iPad & iPhone. You are magic. Thanks.
