Removing a device you no longer have access to from iTunes Match .

An old/first gen MacAir that was on my iTunes Match account recently died - HD crash. I removed the device from my iCloud account (iTunes Store->Account->Manage Devices) but it appears that it's still "using up" an iTunes Match slot. When I try to add my new laptop to iTunes Match I get an error saying that I already have 5 devices connected (although my iCloud account only shows 4 devices in total!). Is there a way for me to remove that old device from iTunes Match?

Any suggestions appreciated!

MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.7.5)
