I have canon pixma Mp287 (usb only) printer thats connected to my d'link dir 615 router with usb cable and I can print it wirelessly from my windows PC. Can I do this to with my iPad?without the need to turn on my PC if I want to print. Just connect it to wifi and print. Any apps for this? Note:printer isnt airprint capable

Glad you went to the trouble to observe your printer is not AirPrint compatible. (If it were, you could print to it wirelessly from your iPad.)
Since it is not, you would have to rely on Canon or some other source for a third-party app to do printing from the iPad. Perhaps there are such apps. I personally don't know of one.
Check in Canon's Website, for a compatible App from them. I believe the Canon Easy PhotoPrint may work for non AirPrint compatible Printers, but you will have to check if its compatible with your Printer.
