Safari 4.1.3 is the highest version that will run under OS 10.4.11.

If you upgrade to OS10.5.8, you can get as far as Safari 5.0.6. I don;t know which iMac you ave but, if "About this Mac" says you have a PowerPC processor, you cannot upgrade any higher than OS 10.5.8.

If you have OS 10.6.8 (requires an Intel processor), the Safari max is 5.1.7.

Safari 6.X require OS 10.7 or higher.
