I…have lost my keyboard and mouse.
Huh? What exactly has gone missing? The prefPane in System Preferences? BTW, what kind of keyboard and mouse? Wired, mighty, magic, etc? Provide the details.
Is there a SL "achieve & install" feature that will repair my keyboard and mouse without deleting my harddrive?
No. You just reinstall the OS. Only OS components and basic Apple apps are replaced. Normally, requires running Software Update afterwards to bring things up to the latest and greatest. Reinstalling doesn't touch user or network settings, data, or other apps.27" i7 iMac SL, Lion, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), G4 450 MP w/Leopard, 9.2.2

Just to confirm as I proceed with caustion since I'm not a tech person. I can run the OS reinstall fom my Mac OS X Snow Leopard DVD and it gives me the option to reinstall without reformatting my hard drive and losing all my info?

Yes. The normal operation is to install. Don't bother with Erase & Install. See http://www.macworld.com/article/1142454/install_snow_leopard.html for details.27" i7 iMac SL, Lion, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), G4 450 MP w/Leopard, 9.2.2
